Dental Radiology

Radiology is used to provide X-ray images of the teeth and jaw tissues to diagnose problems and plan treatments for problems that are impossible to see with the naked eye such as decay, impacted teeth (those that remain completely within the gum), abscesses, bone tumours and cysts.

The first type is the periapicle, which produces localised images whilst the second, the panoramic, images the whole mouth. With advances in digital radiology, patients are now exposed to far less radiation than used to be the case in the past, and both of the X-ray machines we use in our clinic make use of the latest in technology.
